As a Direct Primary Clinic, we don't have to wait for insurance verification to provide you service. We also don't need to wait for any pre-authorizations.
The Cons
Not Insurance
The Direct Primary Care Membership is NOT insurance and we cannot bill your insurance for services rendered in our clinic. If you have government health insurance, such as Medicare or Medicaid, you have to sign an agreement stating that any and all services provided will not be billed to those health plans.
Depending on your insurance, you may be able to submit your office visit bills to your insurance to be applied to your deductible.
Your membership with us does not apply to any other clinic or the hospital.
Not (completely) Tax Deductible
You can deduct your monthly membership fee as a medical expense on your taxes, according to the IRS. But your cost for DPC cannot be counted toward your deductible if you also have a high-deductible health plan or other insurance.
Membership
As a DPC, we do not take any insurance and all services are paid for at time of visit.
Membership with Vanderbilt Wellness is a monthly fee which gives the member significantly discounted prices for all services.
You do not have to be a member to be seen.
