Primary Care
Healthcare can be confusing, but we are happy to answer any questions you may have! To start,
What exactly is primary care?
Primary care is continuous, comprehensive, and person focused medical care. The goal of a primary care physician is both preventative care and management of current conditions.
Why is it important for me to have a primary care provider (PCP)?
There are so many reasons why you need a PCP! Scroll down to learn more or call us today to schedule an appointment.

Preventative Care
Early intervention and detection is so important in preventing our health from suddenly taking a turn for the worse. Annual physical exams, blood work, and follow up exams are essential to catching any abnormalities as early as possible.
Preventative care also includes immunizations as needed, scheduling screenings (like colonoscopies and mammograms), or early interventions when you notice any sudden changes (like a growing lump, new mole, sudden fatigue, or sudden weight loss/gain).
Our goal here at Vanderbilt Wellness, is to use evidence based medicine to ensure you are getting all the care you need. Because we are a direct primary care, you can also ask about some additional service you may want that insurance might deem "medically unnecessary".
Chronic Conditions
Chronic conditions are long term ones. Common examples are High Blood Pressure and Diabetes. It is important to have a PCP managing chronic conditions so that you have the right kind of treatment at all times.
If the chronic condition seems to be getting too complex, we can happily admit that we are not all knowing and will refer you to a specialist.

Acute Care
This is your day to day bumps, bruises, and illnesses. We offer same day appointments so give us a call if you've had cough and congestion for a few days or picked up that case of water a little awkwardly and now your back is stiff. Other common acute care visits include, but are not limited to:
- Animal/Insect Bites
- Wound Care
- Ear / Eye Infections
- Abscess Drainage
- Headaches
- Simple Foreign Object Removal
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Sexually Transmitted Diseases
